As a child Los Angeles-based artist Derek Albeck used to scribble and draw on anything and everything he could. He studied printmaking, painting and art history at California State University and has since worked as a freelancer for clients like Vans, Vapors magazine and Art Prostitute magazine. Usually working with acrylic, ink and pencil Albeck’s illustrations are crazy detailed and while they often feature rainbows and cutesy slogans like “Have a nice day!” it’s not all sunshine and lollipops.
